Thankful Thursday

This week I am especially thankful for individual time with my kids. It doesn't always work out where I get a lot of time with one of them without the other one around too (which is fine), but this week it has worked out for me to enjoy dinner with each of them individually!! It was such a reminder to me about how much I love each one of their personalities and listening to their stories. Reece makes me laugh. That kid is so funny and quick witted. He is always joking which he gets from his father! I loved listening to him tell me about the great interceptions he made a recess this week and did I see any of them... : ) I am blessed to teach at the same school with him and he is in the grade I teach so I am out at recess with him. I must say I did see 2 of the interceptions and he reports their were actually 5!! He makes me smile! Ashlyn is wonderful! She is always full of stories that take place at school. I mean, she is in jr. high so these stories go on for a while! The way she tells them makes me laugh!! I am so glad we are close enough that she will spend time with me and share the goings on at school. She is so sweet and very helpful! She also makes me smile. I am so proud of the girl she is!! God has really shown me the past few days how important it is to SLOW DOWN and enjoy all the little moments! I am so thankful for these great kids and I am crazy about them! I look forward to the new stories tomorrow!

Truthful Tuesday

The truth is:

It has been a wonderful school year, but I am so ready for summer!!!

My evenings go by so well when I am not rushing around doing a million things!

I feel so good after exercising even though most of the time I don't want to!

I've been doing better on my eating choices, but there are some days I still want my sweets!!

I have lost 15 pounds, but there is about 8 more I would LOVE to lose!

God puts some people in my life just to build my character.

Our preacher did a sermon on relationships that was really great and such a reminder of the importance of the relationships we have in our lives. It reminded me that I am so blessed with a great family and wonderful friends that truly enrich my life on a daily basis!!

The truth is I have the best husband any one could ask for! Keith is so kind, considerate, helpful, and makes me laugh! My life wouldn't be the same without him! And the truth is sometimes I take him for granted!

It's hard to let your kids go through struggles and not handle the situation for them or at least take out the people that are bothering them!! LOL!

The older I get, the more I see who and what is really important to me and where I want to spend my time!

The truth is : I CAN HARDLY WAIT UNTIL JUNE 3RD!!!!

Fantastic weekend

What a wonderful weekend!! We welcomed Chase into the world at 3:16 A.M. Saturday morning. Congratulations to my brother and sister in law!! What a blessing Chase is! He is so tiny! I just LOVE babies! I love their little lips, nose, and mouth... I know I would sit at stare at my kids forever and watch all the cute faces they made. I know Tara and Chad have so many great times ahead of them! It also reminded me that mine are growing up so fast so it is nice to be around little babies. Of course, the kiddos are very excited to have another new little cousin! Reece enjoyed getting to hold Chase for a while today!

This weekend I also got to play in a rag ball tournament with my family for a benefit! It was great FUN...but I am so sore!! We all laughed a lot and moaned some too! What is hilarious is most of us on the team have all played ball at some time in our life and we ran out on the field each time like we were the age we were back when we played! Whooo....I can say for me, I can feel the 20 years difference from when I used to play softball, but it was fun! We thought it was a double elimination tournament, but after the first game we found out it was round robin. 7 1/2 hours of rag ball on Saturday and 1 hour on Sunday. Whew!! I'm feeling it...
